Haines Collection is #OhSoNatalie

I love sourcing from Haines. They give surplus fabric, wallpaper and decorative objects a second life.

Haines provides a solution to the environmental challenges facing the Interiors industry today. Haines is a pioneering platform for the resale of unwanted textiles, wallpaper, lights and accessories that would most likely be headed for landfill. We are enabling interior businesses to make small but positive changes to help reduce the negative impact that they have on the planet. Haines Curates, introduced in March 2022, brings together a curated community of eco-conscious designers and homewares that place environmental impact andwaste reduction at the core of their business.

QUESTION 1

What is your favourite colour & why?

I love this question, there is something so nostalgic about it - it’s one of those questions that children ask each other growing up! I’m always drawn to green, I think because I find it a happy colour that works anywhere. My favourite green is patina. I saw a huge copper Roof Onion (who knew they were called that!) in an antiques market recently, and I wanted it for my home rather than my roof just because of the colour!

QUESTION 2

What are you working on at the moment that you find exciting?

We have some exciting collaborations in the pipeline, currently one with a fashion brand called Daydress. I love how you can mix fashion fabrics into your home, the fashion and textile industries run so closely together when it comes to trends and influences. Why not be saving fashion fabrics aswell! I’m also working on how we can work more closely with brands in the USA. We have a growing customer base there and would like to see our model work over there in the same way that we work with European brands. We’d like to be able to rehome luxury waste in our industry worldwide!

QUESTION 3

I love how your offering is extending beyond fabric and wallpaper. What inspired you to offer other decorative furniture and objects?

Our mission is to help reduce waste in the interiors industry, so I was always keen to be able to offer our services to all parts. Luckily I knew it was time when suppliers came to us wanting to rehome more than fabrics and wallpaper. Fabrics are still our largest offering, but I’m working on expanding the other ranges so that you can design your full home using all that we have to offer.

QUESTION 4

Where do you go for / what do you do for inspiration?

Antiques fairs have to be the place that I find most inspiring. I can spend hours trawling through what’s on offer and sometimes pieces just talk to you. I very much go with my gut rather than what I’ve seen or what he’s on trend. Perhaps, subconsciously, I am choosing it because I’ve seen it somewhere before - who knows! As long as you love it it doesn't matter.

QUESTION 5

Do you have a cherished object you would never part with? What is it & why?

I bought a set of four vintage Scandinavian chairs off Facebook Marketplace for £50 a few years ago that I absolutely love and could never part with. They are a beautiful shape and the old worn paint is magical. Saying that, I’m not sure they will ever be sat on and actually used so I’m a little unsure what to do with them!!
