Residence, South London

We need to fuss more about cherished memories and filling our home with objects of beauty that mean something to us and give us pleasure. It is a healthy form of consumption. The way we live is unique to us, meeting the needs of our lifestyles is more important than convention. Comfort and enjoyment at home are paramount to wellbeing. They sustain each other.

The owners wanted to highlight the architectural features of their home, which they particularly loved. The house had two reception rooms both with grand doors, the client specifically wanted the rooms to feel different but to also be seen as a whole. Natalie used her expertise in colour behaviour to build the overall picture from the palette up. The result was an effortless sense of oneness accented in blues and purples but also rooms that very much exist as separate entities too. The client also wanted the rooms to be interchangeable so that furniture and objects could be moved to suit the changing demands of busy family life.

I love working with Natalie.
We have had a long-standing partnership and she knows me well and what I like. She is bold and adventurous in her designs and her use of matching and contrasting colour palettes is both whimsical and clever. All the design pieces and soft furnishings are individual yet still interchangeable!

It’s great to be able to move pieces between rooms and mix things up when you feel like a change without having to buy all new pieces. Her use of collectors’ pieces with high street finds creates a great overall effect. She is skilful at using different colours, texture and fabrics to create a set of separate living spaces but which all fit together in a harmonious way.
