Mrs and Mr Bateman: The Relations

I AM BATEMAN: The Relations
April 2019 Notting Hill
Blurring the boundaries between Art, Fashion & Interiors

In Mrs and Mr Bateman’s second instalment we got to meet some of the Bateman relations. Throughout the installation the observer was greeted by different characters all connected to one another and represented by images, items and visuals that formed the Bateman narrative. Everything was available to buy and on this occasion the trustees created a hardback pop up style book that reflected and exemplified the story. The Bateman concept is created by three women bringing their own expertise from different fields, Natalie Tredgett, Artist Selena Beaudry and Vintage Fashion Dealer & Consultant Clemmie Myers.

‘Mrs and Mr Bateman is a passion project that provides a platform for myself and the other trustees to discover, collaborate with and exhibit artists, creatives and makers that we love and wish to celebrate. Nurturing the passions of artisans you admire, established, emerging and undiscovered, creates an inspiring mix with wonderful results.’

‘This installation is the perfect example of Natalie's amazing use of colour and her ability to tell a story through interior design. The artistic led space was enchanting with a surreal quality often associated with her commercial work. As always, a poetic charm throughout. I cannot wait for the next instalment and love being a part of the Bateman journey. It gives me a chance to get really creative and immerse myself in their story and show my work to a wider audience.’
